Abstract :
Summary form only given. We have developed an environmentally stable, actively mode locked picosecond Er-doped fiber laser with a linearly-polarized output, low timing jitter, and a low pulse dropout rate when driven at rates exceeding 10 GHz. The laser is a suitable source for high-speed fiber-optic communication systems.
