Abstract :
Summary form only given. We demonstrate 10-Gbit/s l0-channel transmission with 100-km dispersion-shifted fiber spacing by using spectrally flat gain erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs). The EDFAs with high Al concentration were optimized with WDM transmission, and gain equalization and pre-emphasis were not required. We employed unequal channel spacing and dispersion compensation to suppress the effect of four-wave mixing (FWM) and XPM, respectively.
