Abstract :
A novel nondestructive method using a dielectric probe with a 1-cm/sup 2/ cross section for measuring the complex electromagnetic parameters ( epsilon and mu ) of materials around 1 GHz is presented. The theoretical analysis uses the three-dimensional finite-element method. Comparison of theoretical and experimental results provides the electromagnetic parameters of the sample under test. Results for a high-loss material at 25 degrees C and 100 degrees C are presented.<>
