Abstract :
Currently in the power supply system, a large number of decentralized energy conversion systems (ECSs) based on renewable energy sources (RESs) and intelligent infrastructures are installed into the conventional power systems in order to build up “Smart Grid”. These leads, the power systems have to be carefully clarified and managed for grid integration. The control strategy and management concept of the future systems should be flexible and reliable to handle the various types of distributed generation (DG). Therefore, this paper introduces a multi level clustering power systems concept for DG. The approach of multi level clustering power systems is giving an opportunity to establish an advance control function down to local level. According to this concept, the future power systems can be built up from bottom up approach, which is flexibility and modularity for DG integration in conventional grids. In order to figure out the clustering power systems concept, the required functionalities and the hierarchical control strategy are taken into account in this paper.
