Abstract
The stability of the second order ΣΔ modulator proposed by Candy (1985) is proven for any properly bounded DC input. It is found, however, that there exists a class of AC inputs for which this ΣΔ modulator is unstable over most of the dynamic range of the input. The possible extension of the methods used for the second order system to higher order systems is discussed as well
