Abstract :
Time-modulated arrays open and close switches in order to connect and disconnect elements from the feed network and generate an “average” low sidelobe array. This paper presents an analysis of the instantaneous array factor, and its effect on received signals in order to demonstrate how time-modulation causes significant fluctuations in the directivity and does not reject sidelobe interference as well as standard static low sidelobe approaches.
