Abstract
We assess the effect of IF filters on the BER performance of a narrowband PCS through laboratory experimentation and analysis. We found that a Butterworth with cascaded phase equalizer and an equiripple group delay showed improvements over the optimal Bessel-Butterworth cascade in the forward and reverse channels, respectively
