Abstract
This paper deals with a solution we propose to answer an extent of a major concern in RFID (Radio Frequency Identification): the muting of an RFID tag, yet for other purposes. In Europe, the European Committee suggests to RFID solutions providers to propose the end customers to deactivate RFID tag if they want to. Generally, this is a non reversible or degraded operation. For some applications, it could be interesting to activate the RFID tag upon end user´s will. We present the first results of an RFID `Switch´ tag, in UHF band for European region which gives its ID number only on demand.. We designed, realized and made basic measurements.
