Abstract :
Summary form only given. We successfully prepared all-fluorinated graded index (GI) polymer optical fiber (POF) in which the attenuation of transmission at 1.3-μm wavelength is less than 50 dB/km. This paper is the first report to confirm that the gigabit rate data transmission at 1.3-μm wavelength becomes possible for several hundred meters by the large-core GI POF.
