Abstract :
With continuous improvement of grid voltage and increasing deterioration of air pollution, both home and abroad have appeared large-scale power outage to the power system, which caused a huge loss, due to pollution flashover. In this paper the flashover mechanism of polluted insulators and related models are introduced, and influencing factors are analyzed; at the same time, based on the flashover mechanism on polluted insulator, a series of prevention measures are put forward, and new technology such as new type of composite insulators and RTV coatings are discussed.
