Abstract
The average link lifetime of a mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) in a space is analyzed. To derive the statistics of the link lifetime, the modeling of random coordinators of mobile nodes is first established with the three-dimensional Brownian motion. The average link lifetime is derived for a pair of mobile nodes, which is then employed to define the average link lifetime of the corresponding MANET. Numerical and simulation results are presented to validate the analysis.
