Abstract :
We present a new equivalent circuit model of asymmetric antenna for impedance properties. The asymmetric antenna consists of capacitive radiator and inductive radiator. To simplify the circuit model, we assume that these two components radiate in only the fundament mode and mutual coupling capacitance can be ignored because of its large value. The equivalent circuit model is a simple series connection of the equivalent circuit of the two radiators. To validity the circuit model, we apply it to a short dipole antenna with a narrow ground slot. We thereby obtain a simple circuit model, which is verified by simulation. The impedance results based on the equivalent circuit model are compared with the asymmetric antenna input impedance and good agreements are obtained.
