Abstract :
The power frequency electric field in the HV substation has aroused more and more attention. In the paper, the power frequency electric field in 500kV substation is calculated using the boundary element method considering the influence of the switching equipment. According to the structural characteristics of the switching equipments, the indirect boundary integral equation of the suspension electrode was formulated. The modeling method and procedure for the power frequency electric field calculation in the substation are presented. Finally, a typical 500kV substation is taken as an example for the calculation on the power-frequency electric filed,, the IES coulomb is used, and results indicate that the power frequency electric field depends mainly on the height of the bus bar. To decrease the influence on the environment caused by the HV transmission lines and switching equipment, the height of the bus bar should be increased.
