Abstract :
Reservoir performance can be assessed over the aspects of reservoir characters, fades and pore systems. Depending upon these factors it can establish different types of reservoir. This study has investigated the information in Tazhong area in the Tarim basin. The samples are mainly from 4 drilling wells of this area and Keping Bachu outcrops nearby. Based on the analysis of thin sections, it can be determined a relatively integrated classification of reservoir space including 10 types. Cave and fracture are the most effective reservoir space as well as fracture is the main percolation channel. A few of primary porosity is left. The most important diagenesis is dissolution which can improve the reservoir a lot by increasing the open space. Considering the quality and distribution of reservoir space, the favor reservoir is fracture cave type.
