Abstract :
The orientation of license plate is a key step in the license plate recognition system (LPR). Its result directly influents the performance of the LPR. According to the different application environment, there are a lot of different location methods. This paper put forward a new kind of orientation method. Experiments on different light and different kinds of vehicle images were conducted. The experimental results show that the proposed method not only has fast speed, but also has good ability of locating and robust.
