Abstract
The linearity/nonlinearity of the output surface of a fuzzy logic controller or model has been discussed in many studies; yet, none of those studies has explicitly considered the linearity/nonlinearity at the transition between fuzzy logic rules. In this study the linearity/nonlinearity at this transition is influenced by a modified center of gravity defuzzification method, where so-called defuzzification weights are introduced to the overlapping areas of the consequence
