Abstract :
This paper presents an ultrahigh density data storage device based upon a 3-dimensional network of magnetic nanowires. The device is entirely solid state and can achieve storage densities comparable with hard disk drive densities. It is well suited to small form factor applications such as mobile phones and digital cameras, where the manufacturing costs of hard disk drives and difficulty in scaling to small thicknesses make solid state solutions attractive.
