Abstract :
In this paper, a simple and compact 60 GHz CPW-fed planar monopole antenna for Switched-beam antenna array applications is presented and investigated. The proposed antenna with a small size of 600 μm × 300 μm is composed of a rectangular strip radiation element fed by a CPW feed line. The proposed antenna has been successfully designed. The simulated results show that the antenna achieves a wide impendence bandwidth from 50 to 70 GHz with return loss less than -10 dB. In addition, it exhibits a nearly omnidirectional radiation pattern and stable antenna gain.
