Abstract
The authors present basic concepts associated with Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) systems management. They give a guide to the various associated standards jointly completed or under development in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Telephony and Telegraphy Consultative Committee (CCITT). Complementary activities in other standards, such as Open Distributed Processing, and standards-related bodies are also discussed
