Abstract :
This paper presents a unified framework to design high-performance, digital-fuzzy logic controllers. The proposed approach is based on the notion of fuzzy unit, called FIT, which is used to represent a fuzzy variable and to build a basis for FIT arithmetic. The architecture of fuzzy logic controller is based on FIT arithmetic. This architecture is extremely suitable for pipeline implementation due to the high parallelism that can be achieved with operations on FITs. Such implementation is especially designated for real-time operation due to the high potential speeds which may reach up to 100 MHz
