  • Abstract
The economic income effect, capital and labor substitution effect for energy consumption are analyzed in the paper by using panel data including 29 provinces in China from 1985 to 2007. Empirical analysis indicates that: (1) fixed effect model is relatively appropriate among mixed regression model, fixed effect model and random effect model. (2) influence of economic income on energy consumption is positive but the influence of capital and labor are negative. (3)reducing energy consumption by alternative of capital and labor are the main ways to maintain sustainable economic growth.
