Abstract
In this paper a monopole antenna with an E-slot has been proposed which can be used for Ultra Wideband (3 - 10 GHz) applications, with a band-notch in the 5-6 GHz band which can be activated or not using appropriate control signals applied to schottky diodes embedded in the antenna. The performance in the stop-band is verified by transmission parameter measurements, in addition to the usual antenna characterization. The Schottky diodes can also be replaced by varactors for tunable notch frequency.
