Abstract :
A wideband planar monopole antenna with dual notch for UWB applications is presented in this paper. A band notched characteristic is realized by inserting a strip and metallic ring over and below the substrate. The length of the strip and thickness of the circular ring controls the rejected bands center frequency. According to the simulated results, the proposed antenna has a large bandwidth (3.13 to 8.69 GHz ) satisfying the requirement of UWB system, while providing the required band notch frequency at 4.08 GHz and 6 GHz.
