Abstract :
This paper proposes an algorithm for the compression of Landsat Image. Since we must compress the satellite image in lossless (lossy) method, we apply the methods of lossless (lossy) satellite image compression using the IWT (Integer Wavelet Transform) which transforms integers to integers. Since many compression using wavelet consider the multispectral image as 3-dimensional image, they use only one filter. We suggest the compression method using the selection of wavelet filters which use the multispectral property. In the experiment using Landsat ETM+ image, we showed that our method gives the correct result for multispectral lossless image compression.
