Abstract :
An analysis is made of the impact of network management requirements, and an examination is made of the construction of the hardware needed for a multigigabit-per-second system. By proposing a simple byte-interleaving circuit configuration, it is shown that multiplexing multiples of eight are advantageous in terms of circuit simplicity. An example of an STM-64 multiplexing line terminal configuration is given
