  • Abstract
The benefits offered by 3.3 V based systems are significant. It is clear that the proliferation of 3.3 V ICs will continue to increase displacing the 20 year old 5 V TTL standard. Issues such as performance and power will be the dominant trends in the evolution of 3.3 V systems. This paper presents the main characteristics and market trends of 3.3 V products today. It offers guidelines in selecting 3.3 V products to meet the power-performance goals of 3.3 V designs
