Abstract
This paper describes the long-term research work that is being conducted at the Key Laboratory of High Voltage and Electrical New Technology of the Ministry of Education in Chongqing University, China, to address the technical problems arising from the West-to-East Power Transmission Project concerning the outdoor insulation in complex climate environment. The research included a theoretical investigation on the principles of insulation coordination and the technology and measurement techniques to prevent accidents
