Abstract :
A two scalar potential formulation for modeling magnetic materials has been developed and applied for designing and simulating an anisotropic shield. The directions of anisotropy can be position dependent. Simulation results show that anisotropic shield is effective, in that it reduces the interference from the field produced by the orthogonal electromagnet without adversely affecting the amount of useful flux.
