  • Abstract
Recently, QFD is one of hotspots for researchers, which is an effective quality management techniques and methods in the international community. It is an important tool that is used to design production, improve customer satisfaction, and gain an edge in the markets. This paper researches QFD applications method in development of smart substation monitoring system. Through the QFD method, designers can listen to the voice of customers in the early stage of product development. Designers can inspect the functions required by the user by technology viewpoint. The customer requirements can be transferred to the alternative quality characteristics. After the design quality is confirmed, it relates to functional module quality and system quality according to the means and aim. It also relates to relationships of each functional module. Quality of product is ensured before products completion, so it meets the customers´ requirement. At the same time, analyzing the whole process of product quality improvement after using the QFD method, it will obtain revelation about how to guarantee the quality and reliability of substation monitoring system by QFD method.
