Abstract
A discrete-event stochastic simulation of many concurrent calls was used to generate time histories and statistics of signal-to-interference ratio (S/I) on a TDMA (time division multiple access) link in a frequency reuse digital portable radio system. It was found that the variations in co-channel interference caused by the arrival and departure of co-channel calls on coincident time-slots partially erode S/I when calls retain the frequency and time-slot that they were assigned at access. The results show that good transmission quality can be maintained with low overhead in the fixed radio network
