Abstract :
This article uses ATP-EMTP software platform to analyze the electromagnetic transient process of the reactive power compensation system. Simulation results show that the closing surge of inputing capacitor and the reignition overvoltage are the most serious damage on the system electromagnetic transient process. This article also discussed the renewed measures on the reignition overvoltage and calculated the maximum voltage after installing protective equipment, to provide a reliable basis for the safe operation of the system.
