Abstract
Two-dimensional (2-D) arrays of Josephson junctions integrated with planar antennas were used to generate free space radiation at THz frequencies. Radiation at 350 GHz was detected from a such device consisted of 638 Josephson junctions laid out in a 58 × 11 array. This is the first instance in which Josephson radiation has been detected off the chip and out of its cryogenic environment
