Abstract :
Workers doing installations or maintenance in worksite conditions have a need for information about the products they are working with. The information can be some product specifications or instructions about the task they are doing. Since the work is done out of office, there is a need to use mobile devices such as PDAs, laptops or mobile phones. Both of these have some advantages and disadvantages. In this paper we present a system where RFID tags are used to identify concrete elements and information about that element can be transferred from central database to a laptop computer or mobile phone at worksite.
