Abstract :
The fabric contains only two active elements in an optical path, allows multicasting, and is nonblocking in the strict sense. Some basic features of the proposed fabric are compared with those of other fabric structures. A pulse-interval address technique is adapted to control the fabric. This technique allows optical processing of packet headers without any central clock. The operation of the proposed optical routing controller is described
