Abstract
The interdisciplinary nature of electronics packaging provides some significant opportunities to industry and academe. Industrial and academic leaders have long advocated exposure of students to multidisciplinary design experiences on a broader scale. A course in electronics packaging provides an ideal vehicle for teaching multidisciplinary design. Furthermore, a course that assumes only a basic freshman science and math background as its prerequisite, would be readily accessible to all engineering and physical science majors, providing a wide talent pool from which to draw future packaging engineers. Such a course is proposed in this paper
