Abstract :
Launch vehicle lightning protection has been a focus of international space safety. Studies have been carried out on launch vehicle lightning protection internationally, which have produced some concrete and effective protective measures, and have achieved good results. Nevertheless, launch vehicle triggered lightning remains a problem without effective solutions. This paper discusses some historical triggered lightning strike incidents, analyses the conditions for launch vehicle triggered lightning, and proposes some lightning protection measures for launch vehicles.
