Abstract
Laser Metal Deposition Shaping (LMDS) is a new rapid manufacturing technology, which combines with computer aided design, laser cladding and rapid prototyping. The advanced technology can build fully-dense metal components directly from the information transferred from a computer file by depositing metal powders layer by layer with neither mould nor tool. Since LMDS technology is a substantially complex process which involves various processing parameters working together, it is essential to confirm a set of crucial processing parameters most suitable for the LMDS process in terms of certain material. Accordingly, the efficient and technical methods were designed to make it.
