Abstract :
Summary form only given. With a novel resonant sum-frequency mixing approach it is shown to be possible to generate frequency-tunable cw UV light with narrow linewidth and high absolute frequency stability. Since a large wavelength range is coverable using commercially available, low-maintenance solid-state and diode lasers, sources of this type should be of significant interest in spectroscopy.
