Abstract :
In this work, magnetic properties and structure of granular type tilted media of (FePt-Fe3Pt )/MgO are investigated. The reason for choosing Fe3Pt is because the ordered Fe3Pt alloy thin films are found to exhibit large magnetic anisotropy (Kl and K2 are -4x106 erg/cc and 2x107 erg/cc) at room temperature, respectively, and thus a composite grain of FePt and Fe3Pt is expected to tilt the easy axis, leading to a lower coercivity.
