Abstract :
A robust quantizer is proposed for transmission over a binary symmetric channel (BSC). The quantization scheme combines the Gaussian channel-optimized scaler quantizer (COSQ) with an all-pass filtering before/after quantizing. For a broad class of sources the resulting performance is approximately that of the Gaussian COSQ for the memoryless Gaussian source
