Abstract
An adaptive traffic load shedding scheme for (direct sequence) CDMA mobile cellular system is discussed and its effectiveness in improving the system capacity is studied. Computer simulation is used to evaluate the capacity increase in a CDMA cellular system after using the scheme. Two interesting scenarios are considered: one fully loaded cell with lightly load first tier surrounding cells, and three consecutive fully load cells with lightly load the rest of first tier surrounding cells
