Abstract
In this paper, a phase-encoded optical code division multi-access (PE-OCDMA) system model is proposed. In order to analyze the impact of beat noise with precise, a Gaussian-approximation method by taking polarization into account is first introduced in this paper. The bit error rate (BER) formula of Gold sequence is obtained, when all interference signals are paralleled with the targeted user we derived the upper bound of the BER, and derived the lower bound of BER when all interference signals are orthogonal with the targeted user. From the numerical results, we can conclude that the beat noise impact the BER performance dramatically. With the receiving optical power and the active user number increasing, the effect of polarization is remarkable.
