Abstract
The author describes some service management capabilities used to configure advanced intelligent network (AIN) services. These descriptions summarize some of the work done to prepare service management requirements for a technical trial of an advanced intelligent network for US West. He provides background on the business needs about AIN that motivate the selection of telecommunication management standards. The capabilities needed to configure services using a managed object paradigm are described. A possible use of the service managed object is illustrated
