Abstract

This paper presents an implementation of the GIV FAX interface with a DAMA/SCPC system and its operations. The DAMA/SCPC system is a ground station intended to support of telephone and data services. This paper emphasizes the data services via a satellite communication network. It is proposed to enhance the functionality of protocol used between each block interface. The CCITT´s X.21 interface is used for interfacing the DTE (GIV FAX) to the DCE (ground station). The high level interface is used as defining the command, request, and response entities in the form of the HDLC. We have investigated, via experiments, the operations of the GIV FAX porting firmware and protocol software which was implemented in this project
