Abstract
We choose Australia, Germany, France, Britain, Japan, South Korea, Russia and the United States as Chinese major trade partners based on the characteristics of imports, and calculate the sector carbon consumption coefficients by input-output tables of eight selected nations, and measure the amount of embodied carbon imported from these eight countries according to the amounts of imports. The results show that the amount of embodied carbon imported from Japan is biggest in 2005, the second is Russia in 2000, and the third is South Korea in 2000. The descending orders of imported embodied carbon amount are the United States, Australia, Germany, Britain and France among remaining five countries.
