Abstract :
Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy is a newly developed technique, which can provide a direct fingerprint spectroscopy of the molecular structure or conformational state of a compound. The relationship between the optical activity of some amino acids and their THz spectroscopy is presented. Based on their THz spectroscopy these amino acids are precisely clustered into three kinds: L-s D-s and DL-s using K-means clustering. We conclude that the optical activity of amino acids can be characterized by their THz spectroscopy.
