Abstract :
Beam correction of Vivaldi antenna using shorting pin structure is discussed. The Vivaldi antenna is fed by a microstrip transmission line without a tapering section. The tilting of the main beam due to the asymmetric current distribution is corrected by shorting pin structure at the edge of the top-side arm. The effect of the shorting pin structure is shown in terms of the radiation pattern. The proposed antenna is also shown to have wideband operation characteristic.
