Abstract :
The planning for common channel signaling system number 7 (CCS#7) survivability has involved the analysis of a range of failures to be expected and their potential risk statistics. The planning framework includes both analytical and simulation techniques to quantify the risks and to develop planning guidelines and network requirements to maintain customer service. Transport layer engineering guidelines and discussion of CCS#7 layer failure modes in particular indicate the applicability of these techniques
