Abstract :
The transfer hub plays important role in urban public transit. The level of transfer capacity of transfer hub has great impact on the total operation state of urban transit system. Moreover, pedestrian facilities design principles and passenger management methods don´t attach the widespread attentions comparing with other issue in many underground transfer hubs. At present, more pursuers have focused on the study of pedestrian traffic, and obtained many research findings. However, there are few studies on Characteristics, facilities and management of pedestrian based on the underground transfer hub. The correlative technology standards and specifications are rarely few in China, which has not been able to meet the requirement commendably. This might result from lack of theories of pedestrian facility design and pedestrian traffic management. In this paper, for the sake of the simulation performance, the NOMAD model is selected to simulate the pedestrian behaviors inner the urban transfer hub. In order to demarcate the selected pedestrian simulation model then use it to study the characteristics of pedestrian traffic inner the underground transfer hub in Beijing, large scale data from pedestrian video was taken from the Fuxingmen underground transfer station. The group behavior, assemble and disperse characteristic, walking speed, facility servicing time of the pedestrian were investigated in working day and nonworking day. The investigation results indicated that it was 4%-13% lower for walking speed of pedestrian in nonworking days than working days. Also the passages of the old transfer hub built before 2000 years are not well suited with characteristic of pedestrian stream, but the resource of many new hubs are somewhat wasteful in Beijing. These characteristics based on survey inner the urban transfer hub are also compared with them proposed by HCM2000 and other researches.
