  • Abstract
    This paper focuses on the preparation and characterization of 2 new Fe-Ga-based alloys: (i) 3-D shaped Fe100-x(Ga,Al)x polycrystalline magnetostrictive alloys, and (ii) Fe100-x(Ga,Al)x composite materials, consisting of nano-and micropowders of active material embedded into a polymer matrix. Thin plates have been prepared by Cu mould casting technique, and magnetostriction has been measured by the electrical resistance strain gauge technique.
